A southafrica woman excretes 57 wraps of methamphetamine

A 38-year old South African woman, Nene Fikil, was arrested for alleged drug trafficking by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

Mr Mitchell Ofoyeju, the spokesman for the anti-drug agency, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the suspect was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, on Dec. 17.
He said the suspect was trying to board an Emirates Airline plane when she developed stomach pain and called for medical assistance.

“She gave herself up when she suddenly held her stomach in pain at the departure hall.
“She was to go through screening when suddenly she held her stomach and beckoned on security officials, demanding to see a doctor.
“Immediately, she was taken for scan which confirmed positive for narcotics ingestion.
“Under observation, she excreted 55 wraps of a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, weighing 700 grammes; preliminary investigation revealed that she travelled to Malaysia from South Africa.

Former miss venezuela ( Eva Ekvall ) dies of cancer

Eva Ekvall  at seventeen (17) was crowned Miss Venezuela at age in 2000 and she became the third runner-up in the Miss Universe pageant in Puerto Rico the following year.

She later  extend her God given talent where she went on to work as a model, actress, TV news anchor and author, eventually becoming one of her home country’s greatest cancer charity advocates after she was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer in February 2010.

 

 

The former beauty queen, whose mum is Jamaican and dad an American of Swedish and Hungarian descent, died on Saturday in a Houston, Texas hospital after a two year struggle with the disease.

She leaves behind a husband and a two year old daughter.

After the traditional wedding two weeks ago in Mbano, Imo State, unique pint-sized actor, Chinedu Ikedieze, otherwise known as Aki has finally walked down the aisle with his heartthrob, Nneoma Hope Nwajah at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Abundant Grace Parish over the weekend. Ironically, the development has put Aki’s bosom colleague, Osita Iheme a.k.a. Pawpaw under some pressure of sorts to get married

The wedding, which was attended by the crème-de-la-crème in the society, has been dubbed one of the best celebrity weddings of the out-going year, and according to Chinedu who had been dating Nneoma for about two years, “I felt so honoured.”

Osita was not just Chinedu’s Best Man at the wedding, which reception was held at Alexander Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, he also played a vital role in making the event a success.
But a source close to him claimed that: “Ever since Chinedu told him of his marriage plans, he has somehow been under pressure to get married too. Since he and Chinedu do most things in common, all eyes are now on him now to settle down. Even his family have called his attention to that.”

The source added that: “He was also advised to limit his excessive social lifestyle in order to remain more focused. But hopefully, he will get married soon as well, because I recently heard him saying that he will take one of his girlfriends serious now.”
Meanwhile, Chinedu’s marriage which was dubbed ‘A celebration of true and undying love’ was attended by the likes of Richard Mofe-Damijo, Segun Arinze, Monalisa Chinda, Uche Jombo, Rita Dominic and Kate Henshaw, while Ifeanyi Uba was the Chairman.

Nneoma is quite taller than Chinedu, but the actor insisted that is actually one of the features of his dream woman.
“I’m extremely happy about this. It is indeed the Lord’s doing. I’m more happy because God gave me a woman of my dreams. She is beautiful, God-fearing and understands me very well. Our relationship has been on for sometime now and I know that she really loves me. I love her too,” Aki told GOSSIPTIMELINK.

Chinedu Ikedieze, MFR (born 12 December 1977 in Bende, Abia State, Nigeria) is a Nigerian actor. He is best known for playing alongside Osita Iheme in most movies after their breakthrough in the movie Aki Na Ukwa.

In 2007 Ikedieze received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the African Movie Academy Awards and he has starred in over a 100 flicks.

400L lasu student dies in Lover's home after sex

 

Lagos State University final year student (Ojo, Chinyere Ezeala, 27) has been found dead in her lover’s room at Ejigbo, Lagos, southwest Nigeria after a marathon sex.
The body was found dead on friday in her boy friend's house with wrap tied round her waist gathered by the police at Ejigbo.

The working class boy who works at apapa wharf was smart enough to report the case himself to the police the following morning and he was arrested. Police sources at the station confirmed that the corpse had been taken to the Isolo General Hospital for autopsy.

“We cannot for now ascertain the cause of death. Until the autopsy report is out, nobody can say categorically what killed her. We have just arrested her boyfriend and investigation is going on. We cannot rely on what people are saying about the cause of death. It is only the autopsy report that can disclose the cause of death,” the investigating police officer told GOSSIPTIMELINK when asked to comment on the insinuations that she died during a marathon sex with her boyfriend.

The family of the deceased are, however, insisting that Ifeanyi must marry the deceased according to Igbo tradition and perform the necessary rites. They claimed that she died while he was having sex with her. They also accused the suspect of sleeping with her without paying her bride price to the family.

“He should marry her now that she is dead as tradition demands,” a man who identified himself as an uncle to the deceased told the police.
GOSSIPTIMELINK gathered at the residence of the suspect that the late Chinyere was a regular visitor to Ifeanyi’s home every weekend to spend days before leaving for school.

On the day of the incident, a neighbour who identified herself as Rose told GOSSIPTIMELINK that the late Chinyere visited and slept with Ifeanyi and was found dead the next day. “Ifeanyi went to the police station and reported what happened. He was arrested and brought to the house.
 The body was later taken to the hospital by the policemen,” she explained. When GOSSIPTIMELINK visited Ejigbo Police Station, the divisional police officer, DPO, CSP Benjamin Olanrewaju Adeola was not around to comment on the incident but sources at the station confirmed it.

Asaba girls, gathered to watch a show by stand-up comedian, AY, live at the Grand Hotel, Asaba, the Delta State capital, on Saturday. This creature called women held music star, Tuface Idibia, hostage when they openly struggled over whom to embrace him.
It was by the grace of God with a enough furious work by security agents who were on hand to rescue him from the riotous girls.

It was observed that the much awaited AY live show in Asaba left thousands of its residents rolling over with laughter, including the state governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, with the ladies adding their own twist to the general fun.

An eyewitness said that amidst standing ovation, Tuface had come on stage and he was accompanied with loud shouts from the Asaba female admirers who called him the ‘greatest’.

But it was when he tried to leave the stage that the whole hullabaloo started. The girls were said to have herded him into a tight corner with several of them rushing to embrace him, but security agents had to fight them off and shepherd the music star to safety.

Confirming the story, Tuface said the girls obviously admired him and his work, adding that all of them said they would marry him. He, however, gave God the glory for giving him the inspiration and love from his admirers....

Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki quietly did his wedding without much crowd yesterday.
He pulled a stunt at his fans when he tied the nuptials with his heartthrob, Nneoma, in Lagos unannounced. Although the wedding, which took place at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Abundant Grace Parish, Ogba, had the trappings of movie star’s event, it witnessed a low turn-out, as the couple wanted it. However, parents of the bride and groom were present.


While admonishing the couple to live in peace and love, the officiating minister, Pastor, Akin Komolafe, a London-based preacher, said that the couple should learn how to satisfy each other. “
“The word submission in the Bible means that the wife should adapt herself to the man and the only way to win your husband is to be submissive with your attitude. The man should also learn to love his wife unconditionally,” the pastor said, quoting the Bible to buttress his point.




When it was time to kiss the bride, Nneoma humbly sat while Ikedieze unveiled her and kissed her to the delight of the gathering.
Osita Iheme, Ikedieze’s closest friend and fellow actor, was his best man.

A lieutenant colonel's daughter kidnap in ojo barrack

   A two-year old daughter of a Lieutenant Colonel was allegedly Kidnap by suspected kidnappers on Tuesday afternoon from the fort and this arose the nigeria army to beefed up security at the ojo cantonment, lagos.


 News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) investigated that immediately the kidnapping was discovered on Tuesday, all entries and exits from the gate of the cantonment were shut with stern looking armed soldiers preventing movement.
A resident of the Ojo Cantonment told NAN that the Tuesday’s kidnapping would be the second abduction at the barracks within a month, as another two-year old daughter of a Major, who was forcefully taken away from her parents’ home in the barracks four weeks ago, had not been found.


NAN learnt that the armed abductors on Tuesday left a trail of blood, implying that one of the assailants or the victim must have been injured during the incident.
Residents of the large cantonment,  are now suspecting that they could be living with ritualists or have the criminals breaching barracks security at will, to perpetrate such dastardly acts.


As at 1.40 p.m. on Wednesday, the little girl had not been found, either dead or alive, NAN reports authoritatively.
Meanwhile, the army Public Relations Officer at 81 Division, Lagos, Lieutenant Colonel Kayode Ogunsanya, has confirmed the incident to NAN.
Ogunsanya also added that a number of suspects had been arrested in connection with kidnappings at the Ojo Cantonment.

Fire Incident at Lagos State University a.k.a (LASU)

(LASU) Lagos State University suffered another raze of shock when the Library caught fire on Wednesday with some students and workers trapped in it.

The incident, which occurred around 11a.m., threw the institution into pandemonium as people ran for safety.
The intervention of  the state fire service  saved the lives of the trapped students and teachers.
Mrs Kunmi Adebayo, a member of staff  said  nobody knew the cause of the fire incident.
She further said,“I work at the administration department but when I saw people running, I joined them.
One has to act fast when it comes to fire disaster,” she said.


A student, who identified himself as Jare,  said many students had left the campus in protest against the hike in tuition fees adding that it was possible that some of the aggrieved students burned the library as a form of protest.
 It was  gathered that the fire was caused by electricity surge, which had since been rectified by the university maintenance unit.

TWO MEN WAS ARRESTED FOR RAPE

Two Men Raped Friend’s Daughter  

Two men, Omo Sukomi, 42 and John Diana, 29 were arrested by the police in Igando, Lagos state for allegedly raping their friend’s 15-year old daughter (name withheld).


The girl was drugged before the accused carried out the dastardly act.
The accused were charged before the Ikeja Family Court yesterday for rape and remanded in prison custody at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prisons, Apapa, Lagos on the orders of the judge, A.O. Isaac.


GOSSIPTIMELINK gathered that the victim was lured into Sukomi’s house at 26, Oguntuwase Street, Akesan, on the outskirts of Lagos where she was drugged. She slept off and the accused took turns to rape her.
According to the victim’s father, Ayodele Wasiu, his daughter fell into their trap because they were his friends. “She did not entertain any fear when they called her to deliver a message for her dad,” he stated.


The embittered father explained that her daughter, a virgin, was returning from school when the accused called her and pretended that they wanted to give her something for her father.
“When she got into Sukomi’s room, they locked the door. They put something in the mineral they gave her and she slept off immediately. Later, they raped her in turns.
“When she woke up, she discovered blood all over her private parts and started crying. She came back home with blood-stained uniform and narrated what happened to me and my wife.


“I took her to the chairman of the landlord association, Mr. Sunday Ayeni and together with other community leaders reported the matter at the Igando Police Station,” the victim’s father told the court.
The accused were arrested and charged to court while the victim was rushed to the Igando General Hospital where she is being treated.
The offence of rape is punishable under Section 357 of the Criminal Code. The section prescribes life imprisonment as punishment for anybody found guilty for rape.


GOSSIPTIMELINK investigation at Akesan revealed that the latest incident has thrown members of the community into panic because it happened barely a week after three friends living in the area were charged to court for raping a 16-year old girl.
Many residents who spoke with GOSSIPTIMELINK expressed fears that their daughters were no longer safe in the area and appealed to the government to apply maximum punishment on the accused to serve as a deterrent to others.


The chairman of the community development association, Mr. Ayeni, also assured that measures would be taken to protect young girls in the community from randy men prowling the streets.

OKADA riders protested against Gov. FASHOLA

Okada Riders Protest Lagos Govt Clampdown  

Uncountable commercial motorcyclists, a.k.a. Okada riders yesterday took to the streets at PWD, Oshodi to protest the clampdown on their operations by the Lagos State government.

•Okada riders protesting over the ban on operating on highways by the Lagos State government and unjustified arrest and brutalisation of their members by the LASTMA officials at Agege motor road between airport bus stop and PWD bus stop

The protesters blocked a portion of the Agege Motor Road at PWD Bus Stop in front of Sam Ethinam Air Force Base. They made bornfires on the road and disrupted traffic.

Attempts by officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA and policemen to dislodge them initially was resisted by the riders who also blocked the road with their motorcycles.
They were, however, subdued by the combined force of LASTMA officials, policemen from Area ‘F’, Ikeja and Air Force officers.

Some of the Okada riders who spoke with P.M.NEWS condemned attempts by the Lagos State government to ban their operations in the state, adding that massive unemployment forced them into the business.
“Government is not fair to us at all. What do they want us to eat? How do we take care of our families when they said we cannot work in Lagos? This is unfair and we are going to resist this,” an Okada rider who identified himself as Danlami Mohammed told P.M.NEWS.

Another rider who gave his name as Ndubusi explained that the directive banning them from operating on the expressroad was punitive. “Where u wan go for Lagos wey you no go pass express?” the rider asked and asked Governor Fashola to withdraw the directive for peace to reign in Lagos.

 E! News presenter  Giuliana Rancic, (Age 37) revealed during an interview on The Today Show, that she will have her breast surgically removed after doctors failed to ’get all the cancer out’ when she underwent a double lumpectomy to remove cancerous growths in both breasts, last month.


She explained her decision:
To be honest, all it came down to was choosing to live and not looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life. It could have come back more aggressively next time, so for me it was just more important to get the cancer out. 

With the double mastectomy I now have less than one per cent chance of getting it back, otherwise it was 20, 30 or 40 per cent chance and  for me it wasn’t worth it

National Assembly shut down by Disabled Citizens

 

Members of the joint National Association of Persons with Disability (JONAPWD), Executive Governor of Nasarawa State (Tanko Almakura) & Senator Bode Olajumoke led a protest OF More than Hundreds of People with different kinds of disabilities stormed the National Assembly yesterday and paralysed activities for several hours.


JONAPWD had the support of the International Republic Institute (IRI) to protest against the delay in signing the bill on disability, which was returned to the National Assembly by President Goodluck Jonathan for a rework.
Vehicular and human movement into and out of the National Assembly complex were halted as the blind, the deaf and people on wheel chairs formed a barricade at the main gate.

Mostly affected were visitors and hordes of government officials invited for engagements by various committees of the Senate and House of Representatives.




A detachment of police and plain cloth security men were able to convince the protesters to appoint a 15-member team to meet with the leadership of the National Assembly as they pleaded for understanding because of the security situation in the country.
The delegation was led by the Nasarawa State Governor, Almakura, Senator Olajumoke and the National Chairman of JONAPWD, Mr Danlami Basharu.

After presenting the letter of protest to the leadership, Almakura commended the response of the National Assembly to the demand of the physically challenged, saying they were warmly received.
“We were delighted that people with disability were appreciated by the leadership of National Assembly. We were received very friendly and they promised to expedite action on our request.


“We were in the National Assembly yesterday to remind the lawmakers that the bill on disability that was passed over a year ago was yet to be assented to and we feel it is not proper because people with disabilities were being discriminated against in appointment and employment.”


Governor Almakura said that the over 22 million disabled people in Nigeria were only asking for their rights and not for any favour, adding that with the huge population of disabled, it would be counter -productive to ignore such group.
He added that he loved to identify with the disabled persons so as to give them hope

Sentenced To Death By Hanging

 

Nurudeen Sagir Umar a kano High court Justice sentenced Miko Umaru to death by hanging for beheading one Hauwa Uwani Alasan about 20 years ago.

The judge, while delivering judgment, said the court was satisfied with the evidence brought against the accused.
However, the judgment came after 20 years of legal battle.





According to  Justice Umar, “I have no discretion, based on section 221 of the penal code, to commute the death sentence. I, thereby, sentence you, Miko, to death by hanging. You shall be hanged until pronounced dead by the authorities concern.”

Justice Umar equally pronounced the second judgment by sentencing him to a five-year imprisonment on the second charge, in accordance with section 219 of the penal code.

The judge said that the convict had the right to appeal if he was not satisfied with the decision of the court.
According to the two-count charge, the convicted, Miko, was said to have murdered Hauwa Uwani Alasan along with two other accused on February 23, 1992 at the outskirt of Kademi Village in Gaya Local Government Area of Kano State.

Miko was said to have strangled and beheaded his victim after hitting her on the head several times.

Trader steals 36,000 bags of rice worth over 26million

A 30-year old trader was arressted by the lagos police and was arraigned before the Ebute-Metta Magistrates’ Court, sitting at Oyigbo, Lagos, southwest, Nigeria, for allegedly stealing 36,000 bags of Stallion rice.

The accused, Murtala Issa, a trader at Apapa, was alleged to have conspired with 10 others now at large to steal the rice belonging to a businessman, Alhaji Sanni Bala, also a trader in Apapa.

The value of the rice, according to the police, is N26,700,000.
The police prosecutor alleged further that 559 bags of the stolen bags of rice, valued at over N4 million were recovered from him.

Issa was arraigned on a three-count-charge of conspiracy, stealing and unlawfully possession of stolen goods.
Inspector Ajala Abeyi, the Prosecuting Police Officer, told the court that the offences were punishable under Sections 516, 390(9) and 427 of the Criminal Code, Cap. C17, Vol.11, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.

Abeyi also urged the court not to grant the defendant bail on the premise that he and others had earlier jumped police bail before he was re-arrested and charged to court.
The presiding magistrate, Mr. M. O. Olatunji, opposed the prosecutor’s application and admitted the defendant on bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties.

Olatunji also ordered that the sureties must show to the court payment receipt of three years tax to the Lagos state government and means of livelihood.
They must also be residents within the magisterial district and one of them must be a blood relation to the defendant.
The case was adjourned till 21 December, 2011 for mention.

The defendant was moved to Ikoyi Prison when he could not meet the bail conditions.

PETROL EXPLOSION IN LAGOS ON FRIDAY

 

A tanker fully loaded with petrol fell at Magodo Area of Lagos/Ibadan Expressway on Friday Evening killing one person while injuring several others.

It was learnt that the fuel explosion also burnt seven vehicles in the traffic that spread to the popular Lagos atoll gate and seven up bus stop. According to witnesses the incident occurred at about 5pm near  the center for management Development as the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran into a mechanic workshop where about seven vehicles were completely burnt, with several other properties destroyed.


The aftermath of the accident  has thrown the road into heavy traffic leaving many commuters stranded at various bus stops. According to Mr Dauda Alabi, a witness it took about five minutes after the tanker fell before it exploded.


“The driver ran away.We could not see him.He knew that the content of the  tanker would soon explode, that was why he disappeared.” Alabi said.

It must be known already widely that star Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has separated from Mr. Roderick Nuttal, her ex husband and this seperation seems to be opening other stories surrounding her Life and Business.

Gossiptimelink gathered from reliable sources that there are strong indications that Ms. Henshaw is in danger of losing her endorsement contract with Promasidor and this deal has positioned her as one of the best mothers in Nollywood, taking her round different universities around the globe and in various federation.

We also gathered that the differences between the ex husband and wife is on the way to bring damage financially to the actress because Mr. Roderick was alleged to be the brain behind Ms. Henshaw’s Onga Seasoning endorsement owing to his relationship with the Managing Director of Promasidor, the makers of Onga Seasoning to have capitalized on his personal relationship and influence to get the endorsement for his wife.

As the relationship which produced one daughter is no longer in existence, insiders disclosed that Ms. Henshaw has lost this endorsement deal,insisting that the contract will not be renewed after this season.

“It happened due to arguement between themselves and it prompted other mobile soildiers to conjoin to beat up one of their colleague.

In their effort to get him into the patrol vehicle, he was not only manhandled, but thrown into a nearby gutter (luckily for him there was no muddy water in the gutter).

His uniform was torn in efforts to assuage the rampaging Policemen by other mobile police officers posted to guard the gate of LASU during the recent protest that rocked the area.

“News of the people” soft sell magazine broke the “dumb” news that Actress Mercy Johnson went blind few days ago. And the gossip was spread by some gossip blogs which is So bad!

A direct message was given to GOSSIPTIMELINK  from her Spokesman (Bigsam Media) debanking the rumour that has already circulated on the internet.

“Even till now some blogosphere and entertainment industry is awake with rumour that star actress, Mercy Johnson suffered blindness and experienced a terrible accident that led to her death.

There is no single truth in this rumor. Please for your information Mercy is on a movie location in Lagos and getting set for her trip to Australia in a matter of days.

After diligent investigation, we are confident to tell you that the rumour started as a result of a publicity stunt initiated by producer of a movie where Mercy’s character lost an eye.
Another part of the rumor was started by distractor whose only goal is pull Mercy Johnson down by all means.

It is very certain to note that these rumors were spread by writers who did not properly investigate before posting on their blogs, platforms or newspapers.

We denounce this act of unmaturity and irresponsibility especially as it affects family, friends and fans.
